Jobs Board is an app that allows portal users to manage job opportunities and anyone viewing the portal to subscribe and apply to jobs.


The installation steps are as follows:

  1. Obtain the Jobs Board app from the Liferay Marketplace.
  2. Deploy the app in your existing out of the box Liferay installation. If you haven't installed Liferay, please download and follow the instructions to do so.


  1. Assign the auto generated role: "Jobs Manager" to the users who will manage all jobs and applicants.
    • Go to Admin > Control Panel. Under Users section go to Roles and find the "Jobs Manager" role, the edit the role and click the Assign Members tab to select the users with this role. You can find all available user in the Available tab. 
    • To save the associations click the Update Associations button. 

  2. Open the porlet configuration and choose the Liferay's vocabularies to use as job category, location and type.

    Those vocabularies should be created with the "Allow multiple values" option disabled, and they must have categories assigned.
    You also need to configure the mail values used for sending subscription notifications:


  • Jobs Managers can add, edit, bookmark and delete job opportunities.

  • Any user can subscribe and apply to jobs opportunities.

  • Job Managers can follow up the selection process for applicants using the following states: Pending, Elegible, Not Elegible, Interview Scheduled, On Board
