An overview of Crafter Rivet
Crafter Rivet provides enterprises with an open source framework for building and managing the dynamic Web experience for all types of content-rich applications, including next-generation enterprise websites, mobile applications, intranets, social community platforms, and more. Crafter Rivet provides both an authoring and publishing application (Crafter Studio), and a high-performance content delivery system (Crafter Engine). Crafter Studio provides a comprehensive set of a user-friendly yet powerful features for marketers and other content editors that include dashboards, WYSIWYG authoring, in-context preview, workflow, analytics, and multi-channel publishing, among others. Crafter Engine consumes content published from Crafter Studio and provides developers with the foundation for quickly building high-performance, flexible Web and mobile applications. Built as an enterprise-grade JEE platform using Spring, Crafter Rivet provides a solid infrastructure that not only integrates well with enterprise systems and deployment infrastructure, but also supports a full-range of presentation-tier technologies including lightweight scripting and REST-based APIs. Built on Alfresco, the leading open platform for content management, Crafter Rivet offers not only a rich application feature-set, but also the robust set of content management services and extensible framework that only Alfresco provides.
Why Crafter Rivet?
In true open source fashion, Rivet Logic built Crafter Rivet to "scratch an itch" - that is, to fill a void in the open source enterprise-grade Web Experience Management (WEM) landscape.
